White Deer Plaza • Sparta, NJ

It's that time of year again!  The Sparta Education Foundation is gearing up for its 17th Annual Krogh's Turkey Trot. The 5K race and 1-mile fun run will be held again this year on Thanksgiving morning. Last year, over 2,000 runners participated in what has been described by many as one of Sparta's best loved community events and has become the "Tradition Before the Tradition."

We're thrilled to announce that sponsorships for this year's event are now open. This is your chance to not only make a meaningful difference in our community but also gain exposure to a substantial and potentially interested audience for your products or services. Don't let this fantastic opportunity pass you by!

The Sparta Education Foundation is a 501 (c)3 NJ non-profit corporation whose mission is dedicated to enriching the educational experience for students in Sparta's public schools. The SEF was founded in 2006 and is governed by an all-volunteer board of trustees comprised of Sparta residents. Together with generous sponsors like you, we are able to fund state-of-the-art educational technologies that help keep our students on the cutting edge of learning.

Since 2006 the SEF has awarded grants totaling over $1.3 million to our school district. Some of the recent grants include:

  • ARCHERY EQUIPMENT-HMS: this grant brings the National Archery in Schools Program (NASP) to Sparta.
  • ROBOTICS 3D PRINTER-SHS: this grant adds a vital tool to the Robotics programs to get the students readiness as 21st century engineering majors and in their future careers.
  • VO2 MASTER ANALYZERS-SHS: this innovative grant is for the newly introduced Exercise Physiology class and allows students to measure their VO2 max, helping each to understand the way exercise affects how efficiently their bodies use oxygen.
  • PROMETHEAN ACTIVPANELS-MAS: these screens replace the use of projectors in the classroom and allow for interaction and collaboration.
  • COMPUTERS FOR ENGINEERING/ARCHITECTURE-SHS: this grant supplies new computers to the Engineering, Architecture, and 3D writing classroom at the high school. These computers support high-end, professional-level software and expose students to programs that are currently used by many colleges, universities, and firms.
